Hi, run out of gas so red light comes on and heating stops. Next day fill back up with gas. Cooker is working, fridge is working gas at heater but red light will not go out so will not run. I have disconnected power reconnnected, fan will run and it will work on mains but not gas.
Any ideas please.

Red light means a fault, not only lack of gas.

Yes but untill i ran out of gas there was no fault. In the past when i run out the light comes on, when i refill turn the heater off for a few mins. then back on as per the book it resets and all is ok but this time it wont reset why?????

Have you checked for a tripped switch?

Just had exactly the same! It was the regulator! Changed that all now ok! Regulator was not supplying enough gas for heating boiler. It would fire up then trip the Truma regulator

I am thinking along the same lines myself, not enough pressure to open the solinoid valve but ok for the cooker and fridge as they are free flow. Its the origininal one anyway so ten years old. i will replace asap. If anyother ideas please keep them coming.

Just been looking for similar faults on other forums.
Have a look at this one Broken Link Removed

Whether the red reset button is for everything or just for the electric element I can't advise but it's worth a check if it is easily accessible.

hi,
the reset button is for the 230v side, if it over heats it will trip. My problem is with the gas side as the unit is only a year old i am hoping that there are no internal problems! untill the gas supply is checked i could be jumping to all sort on conclusions. So tomorrow i will fit a new regulator, i carry one just in case! but as it is 'still working' ie some gas is coming out but maybe not enough. I will change it to eliminate the posssible vault then see if it the heater will play if not back to the drawing board.

Ok. but it seems a bit of a coincidence if the regulator failed at that point.

If you look at the front of the boiler there is a large rectangular cover over the pcb.. Disconnect the power wires from the left of it and remove it. There are two slow burn fuses there.. Glass ones that need to be checked. The reset switch for the boiler is at 2 o clock roughly from that pcb.. Round the other side of the boiler. You slide the small cover off the button and press it.

We had a similar problem here in Spain with our Gaslow system, as it was so cold here there was not enough Propane in the GPL locally and although gas hobs/oven working fine the heating wouldn’t work. As soon as I coupled up a Propane bottle to the Galsow filler connection, all was fine.

I have taken the unit out and asked the service guys at the workshop to have a look at it but was alarmed to see the mark it has made on the floor! looks like it has got a bit hot.

update.
I spoke to the service dept. and they said that the pcb was dead and would need replacing and were still trying to find the course. As the unit is only 8 months old and has 24 months warrenty i am hoping that it will cost me very little apart from having to take it out and refit it.
The down side is all this is going to take time could be a couple of weeks. Looking back i replaced the two units with this one, seperate water and heat and now have none so maybe look at going back to seperate units so if one fails i still have the other. Views please.

I guess this is a new OLD STOCK? as the 6002 has been obsolete for years. Is it from Magnums?

Yes they were ok about it, they said take it to a truma agent which i did. and yes it is a 6002eh.
was working fine... then it wasnt. thought it may have been gas problem but would seem to be electrical...may never know.

Does the red light come on as soon as you apply 12 volts or after attempting to fire up?
OR does the fan start to run slowly and then the red light?

The red light was on as soon as it was turned on, on not flashing and the fan would run at low speed. They have said that the pcb has at fault so i would think that they may have some test equipment. But may never know what has gone wrong. Down to Truma to replace parts etc (i hope) the feed back i have had is that they are good with warrenty work, we will see.

Well got the unit back today and refitted all working ok. They could find nothing wrong after removing and refitting the pcb, but a know problem are board connections and removing and refitting has been known to fix the problem. So all well for now but i have fitted a protex 2000e heater and a propex malaga 5e water heater as back-up and or quick warm up if ever required. So even though the truma was foc. the other bits cost a bit.
