What are all these @s about? (1 Viewer)

In a number of threads I've read posts in which I've been tagged as @GJH.

I seem to remember something about that being supposed to generate some sort of notification but I've never received one.

Have I got it wrong or have I turned something off by mistake?

Sometimes you may want to bring a thread to someones attention.

I've just checked all my Alert Preferences. Don't think I'd seen them before There were several checked which I don't recall setting so they must have been by default
