Hi funsters I bought an Avtex TV via Fleabay (y)

But I didn't read the listing  and I now need a power lead!

It's the four pin type (TV model W164DR)

So if someone has either a mains or 12/24v lead in a drawer that they don't use I'd be happy to buy it from them.

If you are using it in the MH use the 12v all the time then you do not have the transformer from the 240v lying around feeding to the TV. So when you are on EHU the batteries are being recharged and obviously when wilding you have the 12v. Been using mine for 6 years like that. Hope that helps.

I'm pretty sure all TV's use the same 12V plug, so just buy a 12v TV power supply from ebay.
I looked at getting one for our old telly, just before I dropped it whilst installing it in the van, so ended up buying a new telly anyway! :D

Unfortunately they dont.

Many use a standard 'barrel' plug....i forget the name but a tube within a tube.

But others use different ones.

Please, please call Avtex directly and get one from them. DO NOT get an alternative unbranded one from else where be it a shop or online auction site. I bought a 12v lead from a well know online auction site. The first time I plugged it in, it overheated and started to melt. Fortunately the awful smell of melting plastic alerted me, and I removed it before it started a fire

Afterwards I spoke to Avtex and they supplied their own lead at a comparable price and their service is excellent.

Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
I second the suggestion of using your Avtex TV on 12v off the leisure battery,
I bought our new power lead from eBay & its been trouble free.

If anyone needs to know I had reason to test an Avtex power lead recently (it wasn't faulty - just its owner thought it was) and in the process discovered that the pin-out is all four pins +ve and the outer tube -ve.

The original post is years old, but if anyone today is in need of an Avtex power lead, I'm pretty sure we've got one in the shed. In fact we've probably got just about every kind in there -- centronics printer cable anyone? Perhaps exaggerating a bit, but it certainly looks that way.
