Spam filters .. what's the point ? (1 Viewer)

I use Google mail with several accounts, private, public, forum, etc and find it exceptionally good, it checks all accounts and sends to one address, but, on more than one occasion I have found important emails in the spam box.. so I always have to check anyway .. so if it's not 100% correct it seems pointless to me.. :RollEyes:

or maybe I'm missing the point .. :Doh:

It's easier to "train" a filter to accept good messages than it is to filter the millions (and there are millions) of spam messages generated every day. Once you tell gmail not to treat something as spam, it gets thru every time.

Not trying to hijack the thread but on the subject of spam can you tell me how to stop spam appearing to come from my own email address please. Come through BT Yahoo account.

Subscribers  do not see these advertisements
