Can anyone help please!!. After using the MH before, and over Christmas I thought I should drain the system and lay it up until we go out again.

Fresh and grey water, no problem but drainig the Truma boiler is proving to be a bit of a problem!! I've read up on the forum and set out to track down the dump valve? no joy.

I did find a valve under the sink which I think may be a manual dump valve (pic2 in link below) but when activated only a cup full of water came out. There is a pipe that hangs through the floor below the boiler but that comes straight from a T joint from the boiler (pic1) and I can't see any valve on it (confused)

I'm pretty sure the boiler is still full of water, am I missing something very basic here?

Did I mention I'm a newbie??

Any help would be appreciated

Forgot to mention, we have a 1991 Hymer 544

Our valve is black, size of a box of matches, couple of wires and a red knob on top.

Have to push the knob down.

Are all the taps open ?

On my b544 1997 the switch is next to the boiler in the wardrobe under the lift up flap also 2 valves under the sink in the bottom cupboard you have to lift up a wooden cover at floor level, also open all tapes with the water pump off, dont know if this is the same as your model, you should be able to see it drain hope this is of some help

I tried following the link you supplied but it came up invalid so can't see what model you have.

However, Truma have manuals available for download from their web site so you might be able to find one to match there.

Follow appropriate links from Link Removed.

Dump Valve

Two types of valve fitted - auto and manual
Auto as name suggests will dump water automatically from boiler as temperature approaches freezing.
The type I am familiar is manual fitted in line from the boiler, the operating lever is yellow and should be in the vertical position to dump and horizontal when in use. Good luck but these boilers should not be left with water in during freezing conditions.

Now i'm really confused?? That's what I did on the first post?

Try this , it's a link to an individual photo rather than the album.

Graham

Update - just noticed the album was set to private, changed it to public so it should be visible now. sorry....... I did warn you I am a newbie!!

Hi Graham (cracking name!)
(snip)
Ain't it just

Found the photos now but don't recognise the valve.

Warwick's description is the one familiar to me. Our Ultrastore has the yellow manual lever on the valve. Location is very close to the boiler, not remote as your photo appears to show.
