Loved the photo's, looks like we will a lot more of that area as our son & family have just moved to Gorran haven just south of Megavissey.

Lucky Beggar, that's a magnificent part of Cornwall.

Thanks for the comments. Hopefully next time I'll pick a slightly quieter time to visit (everyone else obviously thought a week or so after the end of the school holidays would be quieter too :xdoh:) and not have so many encounters with brambles while driving down narrow country lanes (n)

These are great pics, I can't believe the weather.
We used to be regulars down there when we first married up until the kids were school age but we never had clear skiesx:-)
Is Heligan fully restored now? The last time we were there we stayed on the adjacent site but it was in the early days of the garden being open.
I think a re-visit would be a good idea.

No, there was still work going on in the gardens and I got the impression they'll be finding new areas to restore for a while yet. Most of it seemed to be complete....although with some of the areas, like the woodland walk and the lost valley, it looked like their maintenance was deliberately "hands-off".

The guide booklet recommended a few days to cover the whole place, but I reckon one full day would be enough for most people if you went at a reasonable pace and didn't keep stopping to take photos.

Thanks, yes I think a day would cover it as you say....
Amazed they are still restoring, it must be 20 years since we visited.
