This is a CC site but don't let that put you off!

Right on a sandy beach and near to lots of other sandy beaches.

Decent pub about half a mile up a biggish hill.

Small convenience store in Lamphey about 1 mile. Tesco in Pembroke Dock about 6-7 miles away.

Gods country:thumb:

That's the one.

You enter Freshwater East via Lamphey and go down a big hill towards the beach. The site entrance is at the bottom of that hill on the right.

The wardens can be a bit iffy, but I just ignore them and their stupid signs like "We all like dogs - on leads":xdoh:

I spent many happy holidays there when I was little. There were a few old static caravans and a small toilet/shower block where the CC site is now. A fisherman used to bring fresh mackerel round to sell in the mornings straight off the boat and we used to walk to Lamphey and get hot fresh bread from the bakery. Happy memories. Never been back.

Yes, I suppose they are stupid signs. Responsible dog owners don't need them and the irresponsible will ignore them.

Its not the message that gets to me, but the way the message is delivered.

Why not " Dogs Must Be Kept on Leads" , rather than a stupid, patronising "We all like dogs - on leads"?

I haven't even got a dog and it winds me up:xgrin:

Its hardly changed at all since you used to go there.

The National Trust own most of the surrounding land so there has been no development.

The little shop on the dunes isn't there any more, nor is the rather rough bar that used to exist near the site entrance. Both demolished years ago.
