right lads, another question !
our plan is to use our van for mostly wild camping and we are trying to sort a tv for the van.

our van has two batteries and a 1000w inverter fitted, plus a solar panel which given its age, is probably not a high wattage.
SO
I have two tvs to choose from because of a small budget.

which would you choose.
1) a 0ld 14 inch lcd drawing 35 watts but is 12 volt and comes with both 12 v and 220v leads.

2) a new 19 inch led drawing 18 watts but 220v only, so needs to run through an inverter.

I have not used a tv in the van when not on hookup.
the new 19 inch led was a bargain but if it is the wrong choice, I can send it back and keep saving for a better tv.

thanks for any replies

Use no 2.... A lot better TV, less power even when used with an Inverter.. That may add an extra 20% max to the TV's own 18watts .. So say less than 22watts = 1.83 amps....
You old tv will draw almost 3 amps...

Option 2 but not used with that 1000 Watt inverter. Alternatively get a proper 12V tv of a size to suit your needs.

D.
Thanks Dave.
Finding it hard to source a decent tv.
What do you mean about the inverter?
