Excellent municipal site, very popular with the French. Supermarket 10 min walk, various Restaurant's within walking distance. Overlooks the Atlantic coast at the Southern entrance to the Gulf of Morbihan.

Hi put Piriac on your list. There's a lovely Aire just outside on the road north overlooking the sea. It was free but there was work going on to put in waste disposal and barrier, so may now be a charge.
Le Croisic also a lovely area. Lots of walks.

If you want a bit of WW11 history visit the German Submarine Pens at St Nazaire.

Concarneau - quaint walled town by the harbour, nearby aire at the old station
St Guenole - fishing harbour village, nice large open beach (Pointe de la Torche) round the corner. Handy aire, no services.
Locronan - very quaint village with wall to wall cobblestones, has been used as a film location. Small aire at the edge.
Tregastel-Plage - right on the lovely Pink Granite Coast, aire is well-situated for exploring the area on bike and foot. Don't miss the Ile Renote and the Sentier des Douarniers if you go.
Le Croisic is worth a couple of days, although I think it's just outside Brittany - five small aires dotted around, the best of which overlooks the marina. If you like WW2 stuff visit the Blockhaus museum just down the coast.

La Turballe (it has an aire). Arzon (great beach & massive marina), Port Navalo (Boat cruises around the gulf of Morbihan). Point de Raz.

Sorry I should have added these are places I've been to and definitely want to return.

Another vote for the Presqu'ile de Guerande (Le Croisic,La Turballe, Piriac, Mesquer/Quimiac). Lots of Aires in the area, very popular with the French and busy at weekends out of season. Guerande itself is a medieval walled town and the coastline is superb(like all of Brittany)

We have a mobile home in the area, don't tell the locals it's not in Brittany......look at the road signs. It is not now in the administrative region of Brittany but is part of historic Brittany, there are movements to re unite!

Hi FIDJET
Try this one.
Les Plages De Beg Leguer 22300 Lannion Cotes d'Amour.
If it is hot and you don't need tv,choose in the trees, otherwise there are open pitches just up from the swimming POOLS !. We stayed here two years ago,an Irish couple we were with went again this year, say it all.
Sadly,we cannot go back,ALL i said was,"Serve this lovely young lady first"..... Which he did,he then said,"I will have to kill you!!! that young lady is my mother and you are making a play for her!!!" LOL. We STILL stayed another 6 nights,AND will go back.
You can drive down the hill to a super beach if the legs cannot make it,cafe and parking at the bottom, about 300 yards,go,enjoy.

Dol, Dinan for quaint historic towns and if you enjoy french markets the saturday one in Rennes which believe me is the french market that will blow you away. St Malo is nice but a bit artifical. Le Mont st michel (on the borderwith Normandy) is France's no 2 tourist attraction after the Effile tower but worth seeing once, preferably out of season stay at the aire in Pontorson and get the bus in from the staion (much cheaper).

If you are into anticuities Carnac is the center of the greatest collection of megalithic monuments in Europe. They make stonehenge look like child's play.

As a pleasant small inland reasort with excellent walking Huelgoat will take some beating.

Don' t forget Quimper, Quimperle, Pont Avent, Vannes, and all those tiny villages for which you need an OS style Map. Almost all costal villages have parking for Le Camping Car , no ehu but water and waste, all we need and free gratis. Perhaps you should allow more than 2 weeks?

Thanks to everyone who replied, really great response !
as Martin2603 say's looks like more than 2 weeks needed.
Shame only 2 wks booked this time, but there's always next time, will now get map out and start to see actually where these places are and provisionally get some idea of which way round or which part to go to first,
then start to make a list of what I've missed for the next trip.
So much to see , so little time !!! Retired !!! still not enough time where does it all go to.

If you are travelling east to west via Rennes you must not miss the aire at Josselin. Its very large and free with a bakery a short walk away. Lovely old town on the river/canal with a castle worth visiting. The small town of Le Pouldu on the coast north of Lorient is charming with camp site Les Embruns recommended by us after a stay there in September this year. As other have said a visit to Concarneau is a must :xsmile:
