If it were me, I'd drill out the old rivet and pop a new one in its place. I am not near my MH at the moment so I can't look at the step to confirm the layout, but I would suggest that would be about a 30 min job.

Just replace it with a nice stainless steel bolt with a nyloc nut on it :)
A brilliant suggestion, I actually thought about that myself after I posted :D
Be an idea to put washers either side just to aid motion as well.

as Jaws said longer lasting, stronger (washers both sides IMO) and cheaper if you don't have a rivet gun(y)

edit.....Daniel - snap!

Well if you need a plastic 'top hat' type spacer made up, email me a picture with dimensions and I will bash one out in ten minutes for you..
Cost is postage only :)

Rarely use our electric step!
Have a sturdy plastic one bought at a show for £18. Solid as ya like. Keep it in the garage. Never trusted the body mounted ones!!!
Ok in an emergency though and for 'occasional' use.

Hi Jaws

I made my own but didn't want to drill out the oval holes too big and take all the strength away.

Kind offer for anybody who needs them though.
