I've successfully fitted my Biard 150w to the roof and now understand all what is needed to fit.

But I reckon I could do with another 50w to really be sure. I've been looking at these portable ones and they seem quite cheap.

Has anybody bought/used a portable of 5ow or similar ?

All recommendations welcome

We have a very small 13w folding one and have managed to stay off grid for a fortnight just with that! Was in the middle of summer admittedly!

Hi, we never bothered with solar on this motorhome, and had a Stirling battery 2 battery and 3 x 85ah = 255ah battery bank.
This works for us, solar is great if your in one place for a while and the sun shines.;)
And in winter even here in Spain a panel flat on the roof, and the sun being low you will not get the best results.
We have a 80w panel for the caravan and just stand it against something angled towards the sun.:ROFLMAO:
But the thing with free standing solar panels are someone could steal it.:D Bob.

We are a long way from affordability having both started from scratch in our late 40's
