Simon I reckon you should be looking at kit that has 4g capability to be future proof.

The Huawei E5372 is the same price on PAYG from Three and includes a 1 month/1GB SIM. It's also 4G capable and all devices sold by Three are now unlocked. I bought one last week and it worked well at the weekend when we were at Beamish.

My latest mifi thingy (Net Gear Air Card) has mimo plug sockets (multi input, multi output).
This means you can plug in an antenna whatnot if you are in an area with a weak signal.

Have you looked at www.motorhomewifi.com

No not yet, was just in Maplin yesterday gadgibrowsing and wondered if this was the same, I need something just not sure seeing as I am a bit of a technodick:)
