When did they move Dumfries to the east coast then ?

Dumfries is south of Glasgow last time i was there. ;)

You can't pull the wool over a Yorkieman BUT

Anyone with a brain in his head would come up the M6 rather than the A1 and we are still roughly an hour (well ok, hour and a half) from the godforsaken, traffic congested, crap shopping, depressing, expensive, dump that he is heading for.
Perhaps an overnight stop within a place of tranquil beauty and culture among friendly natives may put him off going any further.

There was not much left of it in 82 royal

I was the ultimate deterrent that the UK withdrew so when the Argies knew I was gone they thought they could please there selves. (Been using that story for years, funny enough no bugger goes along with it, can't think why ?)

Yep, seen the phots, and that is why I try to keep the name alive. and NP8901 also lives on. best draft I ever did, fond memories !

If you want somewhere just off the M74 perhaps near Moffat, Abington, I can tell you where to pitch your bivvy , when are you coming up ? :)

Have friends near Dunbar where I can place you too if you really prefer the A1.

Forgotten their name for the moment but someone on here runs a campsite near the M74 at Lockerbie, be an hour and a half to Auld Reekie from there.
edit, how did I miss Keith's post at the start
