As I am fast approaching being label the funster who arranged the smallest meet of the year. :Eeek: What do you think of SMALL meets. Do you like them? What makes a good meet work for you. Is it the location. Familiar faces. Entertainment. I have never been to one of the big motorhome shows with the funsters. The biggest one I have been to is the fabulous wrenbury meet. :party2:

being label the funster who arranged the smallest meet of the year

Only if no one turns up .:(

I organized one .. The Lodge CL meet June 2009.. one couple turned up.. Bob and Janie .. formerly known as bobandjane

Don't like big meets myself..
we like small informal , not into big parties and the like.. don't need entertainment..

a few friends under the awning sharing food, drinks and stories.. :)

I enjoy meets with any number of vans from 1 to 1000.

Currently at a "meet" of 1 (just me) at a beautiful, peaceful parking place in Central Portugal called Quinta Majay (my very own small orchard).

Maybe some Funsters will call in and maybe they won't.

Had a brilliant "meet" with 2 vans in Coimbra very recently.

So in this case size doesn't matter to me.

Both nice in their different ways :inlove:

Small meets are lovely, you get to know a few people much better.

Big meets lovely too, you get to know even more people, but a bit less well :party3: cos you have to spread yourself out a bit......erm, well, y'all know what I mean!

Hi Hilary, what Scotjim and JJ are saying is no one turns up when we go. :ROFLMAO:

I would say small is good, its nice to catch up with people at large meets, but always end up socialising in small groups. (y)

The meets we organised was Max 20, but just as good with less. :)

We've done two rallies with the Murvi owners club this year. One had 50 vans and the one in Scotland had 5. They were different, the big meet had organised things, which you have to with that number I think. With the little Scottish meet we moved around between sites and could go to the local pub without overwhelming it. Both different, both enjoyable in their own way.

Just noticed I'm one away from 2K. Shall it be something profound or a comment about cassette emptying? We shall see!

Hillary, I've done meets, ( but you know that) I've done meets where I've organised for 90 vans and I've done and attended meets where there was 5 vans.
It's about the company and the theme. 5 of us went to see status quo a couple of years ago and it was awesome, 5 of us went to caamperjam and it was more awesome, 12 of us went to shell island and that was even more awesome.

The only thing that really concerns me is that shows get 150 vans and these smaller dos which IMO are far more fun and personal get less ....good luck with it

Good point. Lorraine & Gerry (Lorger) came to Chapel Lane when we were there in April and we had a very nice evening - then ShiftZZ came to take us out for the day the next morning, again very enjoyable (y)

I think I am right in saying that when it is a BIG Meet, it is on for a purpose. ie a Show or a Bring m Buy etc., so it has its place on the calendar. As social butterflies we all like the small ones too, so we can extend our friends list
Seems to me the general consensous is everyone enjoys a meet whatever the size or reason
