Departing from Santander next Wednesday. Does anyone know if you can park at the port with our van about 6 hours before sailing? Can you walk into town from the port?

You just cross the road into the town...Fill up with fuel before you get into Santander. There is a filling station but its awkward..Safe crossing,,,we travel the other way on 3 rd Oct....BUSBY....

There is one in town but easy large filling station a couple of miles out of town, which is on route where ever you are heading..BUSBY.......

just across the road from the airport is a big hypermarket . they have good prices .
as you come out of the port turn left . you cant miss it .

My brother and I spent a day and half in Santander at the end of our cycle ride along the Pyrenees in June and having been there before and been a little underwhelmed this last visit was a revelation.

If you look at a map the centre of the town is not far from the train stations but if you turn right outside the port and walk with the sea on your right along the front to where there is a lot of building work (a cultural centre I believe) you will find inland from there a very pleasant area of bars and restaurants. We found a place called El Grand Cru and had the best meal of our trip there.
