When I was on an Aire recently, another Brit' (non-Funster) Motorhomer filled up with fresh water using a hose with an unusual tap connector on the end.
The wall-mounted tap was a push-button domestic type with a really short 'spout'. This guy had an adaptor which looked like a small black foam doughnut - terminating in a standard hozelock male spigot. It had no jubilee clip and as if by magic, just held firm on the short tap.

Couldn't quiz him too much as it was persisting down with rain and he was hot to trot. He just said that he got 'one of the last few going' but didn't say from where.

I've scoured various sites, but can't find one. Anyone seen one?

I have made an adaptor from a push on "Caravan" type filler hose and a Hozelock fitting. This fits smooth taps. I can then fasten the hose to this pipe.

................ or, like me, had thrown it away.

More importantly - why does any site use square taps? Do they think we fill up with a jug? Best so far are the sites that fit taps where the outlet takes a click-on garden hose fitting.

One in Spain was to prevent you using a hose, they told me they had to tanker in drinking water and it cost a fortune so they were deliberately preventing people using a hose.

I almost packed up and left there and then, but it was in a nice location.
