We are travelling to confolens what route is best(dont fancy Paris) is it all toll roads?

Seeing as no one else has replyed , this is what we did but we were only touring round so no where near a direct route , we went down to Dijon , across through chalons , Limoges , where you can park at parc verger, and just across to confolens, we were looking at houses and land for sale and did quite a bit of touring around that area, then we just camr straight up , tours, Le Mans very nice area, some tolls but you can do it without if need be and you have plenty time.

Route through Paris is around 700kms or 9 hours driving and mostly toll road.
Route not using toll road is around 740 kms or 13 hours driving so it depends how quickly you want to get to Confolens.

Abbeville - Barentin - Bernay- Argentan -Le Mans - Tours -Poitiers- Confolens

704 kilomètres.

or, péage-free:

Abbeville - Rouen - Evreux - Chartres - Romorantin - Chateauroux - La Souterraine - Confolens

700 kms.

I normally travel Abbeville - Rouen - Le mans - Tours - Poitiers- Ruffec then over to Confolens - nice aire next to municipal campsite - 2 minutes from town centre. Tolls after boulogne to Abbeville, toll free to Rouen, go down to Le mans via the N road next to the Peage, same as from Le mans to Poitiers no need to pay as the N roads run just about next to the Peage.

Calais Rouen, evereux dreux chartres ,orleons,vierzon, limoges (you can turn off before Limoges and drive the short route to conflons) BUSBY..About ten hours from Calais. Newhaven dieppe a better crossing.
