Assuming you have fitted the correct spec bulb and it is working it could be an earth fault or something similar. I can only suggest giving everything a good shake/bang around the light clusters.

With my old Volvo I sometimes found with sidelight bulbs that if the bulb on the other side was equally old but not actually blown (just blackened glass), it could still trip the bulb failure detection system.

Have a look at the the other bulbs.

many many years! since I was a kid
its a notorious problem that these vans dont like some bulbs. try fitting a quality bulb and see if it resets the bulb failure light. have had exactly the same issue myself

hi Ian
have you thought about changing all the bulbs, it could be anyone of them that's faulty, even the number plate bulb can affect it. hope that helps

The vehicle ECU are funny things.

It would have shown a warning light because the bulb failed.

Now you have changed it it probably really wants a PC reset.

But they constantly monitor the vehicle systems. If it sees the bulb fault has been cleared it may well reset it self in a bit.

It might take a couple dozen starts etc but may well sort it self out in time.

just a thought if its not the bulbs, its the pandemonium pin move it 5% to the right wait 1 minute and move it back, you will find the ECU resets itself to manufacturers specifications. Try that

Yes I will definetly give that a go. You fu888ng launatico_O

You haven't said which bulb but if it was a heavily used one (like a sidelight one) the chances are its partner is dodgy.
