Hi all,
I've seen a website that suggests a few milliltrs of acetone in with
your fuel gives a better burn, resulting in quieter engine, more
oomph, and better mpg.

Hi there i would not bother trying this out unless you like spending lots of money to repair your vehicle i've been a diesel technician for 26years and believe me i have seen the end results of people trying things like this and its not a pretty site when it goes wrong My Advise is to steer well clear:thumb::thumb:

Not in a standard Motor......It could end up very expensive to repair.

It changes the fuel burn characteristics and internal engune temperatures

As Andy says....steer well clear.

I worked with large diesel engines for most of my working life, some of them up to 30,000 HP. There were always people trying to sell us miracle additives for the fuel but none of them were cost effective.

The best tip I can give is to use the best quality low sulphur fuel available and regularly make the engine work hard to clear away any carbon deposits.
