Not used blue stuff since we joined this forum!

Your cassette will stay cleaner on a diet of bio washing liquid! There is no buildup of gunk and the seals last longer. Our cassettes look like new inside after 4 years of regular soiling!!!!

We nearly ran out of the blue stuff in in Germany and went to a Lidl but could not find any liquid indicating it was Bio . The emergency was solved when on a cycling trip we passed a store selling stuff for camping and we got our normal blue liquid . Back home I had a look in our Local Lidl and still was none the wiser . Some Formil liquids state that they are Non Bio .... does this mean that all the others are Bio ?If we find it is the stuff any good for its intended purpose of washing as well ?

TOH stocked up with the Tesco stuff (biological washing liquid) when it was on special so we always keep a spare bottle or two in the van. A bottle usually lasts us a month, emptying and recharging most days. Trick is not to use more than a cupful, we've found that less is best otherwise we tend to get a bit of a chemical type whiff.

And it also works well when we need to do a bit of laundry.

Tesco bio is good. Carrefour do a good, cheap one too. Much better than the blue stuff (which is sometimes green)

Not the whole bottle! You only need a cupful ;)

So the quantity you use per fill after emptying is around a cupful?? Thats really handy to know. I hate that blue crap, if spilled, everything turns BLUE........And anyway, not much gets 'broken down' over a couple of days. Do you use this all the time???

I haven't used blue chemicals for years.

Use about the same as you'd put in the washing machine - some liquids are more concentrated than others.

If it's not doing the job adequately after a couple of days, just add another dose.

Is this stuff cost effective, some caravan shops sell their own label blue stuff at about £10 a gallon?

Don't know but I prefer the smell of washing detergent to that of traditional 'blue' liquids.

Would you charge the cassette with the same amount as you would "blue", with the same amount of water?

How do you make homemade "stuff".
I tend to empty every 2 days and the cost can add up if you use the propriety brands. I'm open to any suggestions the work and also prevent damage to the cassette.

I go to the £1 shop and buy a packet of 5 Bloo blocks, get an old bucket, put all the toilet blocks in and pour boil water over and let them desolve overnight, when all desolved pour into bottles, last for ages.

We’ve been using the bio tablets from Lidl. They come in a small box and are packaged in twos. You can crumble them while they’re still in the packet, then just tip them into the cassette. Nowt wrong with the liquid but these seem to take up less space.
