Off work 31st August to 8th September.

Question is " where shall we go ? "

Plan on staying 2 maybe 3 nights at any one location then move on.

Now, Should we go to France or Cornwall ?

Any ideas ?

Depends whether you want to spend all your time travelling long distances or whether you fancy shorter distances. Personally I prefer "short hops" in the heat.

Also depends on your budget too

You have a motorhome show I think somewhere in that period that you could attend too if you fancy joining up with funsters.

oooh and if its bank holiday weekend you will be really stuffed on ferries etc if things go wrong you could end up spending hours in queues rather than enjoying your holiday time

Good luck with your decision

Just come back from Devon and Cornwall - it's no contest - leave France to the Frogs!

Agree its a long way but Dover and Cornwall are not far off the same mileage .
Decisions Decisions.
If France wins it would be Normandy area, perhaps Mont St Michel

Obviously you've got the cost of the ferry and insurance to consider if you go to France but the diesel was about £1.00 a litre when we were there a couple of weeks ago and of course there is all the lovely food and wine. Lots to do and see in Normandy, Honfleur is lovely, Bayeux and all the Normandy beaches, Crecy is in the Suisse Normand area which is a pretty area.

nowhere near long enough
Definitely France---once you have crossed the channel there will be no crowded roads like Cornwall and you will not get ripped off with parking charges, that is if you can find anywhere to park in Cornwall and think of the rip off site fees that you will save money on especially if you use the delightful aires in France

If you are prepared to drive as far as Cornwall then I would also say go to France instead. We go on the 18 Aug for 5 weeks and intend to go to Normandy and Brittany.

Tough choice.
Wouldn't fancy either during school holidays but if I had to choose I think France would win by a nose.

In a week? Go to Scotland or perhaps the Lakes if you like walking.

Our fourth glorious year!
With only a week and starting from Lancs I vote for the west coast of Scotland. The weather has been extraordinary ...if only it can continue!
