Leak on water inlet (1 Viewer)

the inlet water hose connected from the van to the water tank is leaking again. haggars and gjh had a go the last time this happened about two years ago.do you need any bodge or filler on the bit of hose that connects to the tank or should jubilee clips be enough. the lastrepair had silkoflex round the bottom of the tube and the water has been leeking through the silkoflex so is it required or should we use something else???

Ive just installed a new water tank and all connections were made dry without sealer of any kind.
However as yours has had previous problems those who repaired it obviously felt or saw the need for sealant to effect a repair, without eyes on its all guess work as to what is actually needed.
strip down,clean up and have a stab at it use ing sealant as well. belt and braces wont hurt

Think weve got it sorted.Got the jubbilee clips on and used socket and wrench and get tight.

I remember the problems, Bill, the main one being the awkward curve on such a short piece of hose.

If you have problems in future I would do much along the lines Geo suggested. Take the hose off the bottom fitting and put enough sealant round the fitting, before putting the hose back, so that it has plenty of sealant in the joint.
