We are now 3 weeks into our seven week trip! so far have covered France, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Slovenia and now in Croatia.
During this time, we have met numerous European's and found them to be very friendly and sociable people and surprisingly well versed in the English language. And not forgetting a lovely Australian couple who are touring Europe who we shared a little time with.
The simple fact is, the wife and I are very sociable people and enjoy meeting and chatting away with our European cousins and we find them so easy to approach.

However, there is one country in particular where we have always found it hit or miss! Some of their national's simply do not want to know you or even return a civil good morning! Happened twice on this trip already. Yes it's my own countrymen, the Brit's.
Ha! Ha!
God help us were doomed!

Maybe those seemingly unfriendly Brits are trying to escape from chats about the weather and how the food tastes funny... :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

The chatty foreigners want to practise and improve their English...

Could be when a Brit is abroad on tour he will happily chat to a local but,

when he comes across another Brit he thinks , oh! , i have come all this way to

experience a different culture and i cannot seem to get away from the sound of Brits.

When i drive off the ferry over there ,it is a relief to get away from the port into a local area and site where it`s all locals , then i know and feel i`m on holiday.:thumb:

We often cover that number of countries in 3 weeks, but only drive a few hours a day. lots of time left to socialise.

Not quite! France and Luxembourg were visited in one day on our way to Germany. Then about 8 days in Germany, 4 in Austria, 7 in Slovenia and have been here for about 6 days now.

We've been "doing" France 2 or 3 times a year for 10+ years but havn't "covered" half of it yet.
