The Kent council web site indicates that motorhomes can stay for 48 hours for £3.00 per night.

It also lists a grey and black water dump and a standpipe for fresh water.

Does anyone know if the fresh water is included in the price ?

Thanks.

Thanks GJH, I would be interested to know if you have the internet facility at Canterbury.

Just looked at the prices and information page on their website and it says there are height barriers. ??? Anybody know for sure? Thanks. Could be a handy stop over going to the ferry.

The site is closed on Sundays at the moment but you can get your vehicle out at any time day or night.

There are height barriers to prevent large vehicles getting into the car parking area.We did not encounter any height barriers when stopping in the area designated for motorhomes. This facility is very handy for stopping overnight on the way to Dover ferries.

There is a cracking Indian restaurant in Canterbury:thumb:

Can't remember what it's called though, or where it is:Doh:::bigsmile:

From all the information I've seen there is no extra charge for water. Hopefully find out in a couple of days as we hope to be there

Careful !

One false turn and you could Cross The Water.

There is 2 side by side entrances one is sharp left into "our" section no barriers... entrance 2 is as stated cars to main P&R only.

There is a fresh water tap at the end of the MH parking space by the waste water.

l was worrying about change but if l remember they took Change & Credit/debit Cards & Notes. Head on foot for the little hut in the main car section behind the MH parking area to pay.

Bins are just before the pay hut

From information provided by the Senior Transportation Strategy Officer on 7 April.

The ticket you get from the entry machine becomes your bus ticket which you keep with you.
You can pay at any time but you must have paid the correct amount before the ticket will open the exit barrier…the machine will tell you how much but the cost is based on £3 per 24 hour period.

Good news…we started the Sunday service this weekend so the site is open from 6am to 9pm 24/7 and the buses run from 10am to 6pm on Sundays…just right for your next trip perhaps…

We have smaller waste bins which can cope with everyday items but it would be appreciated if you could take your bulk waste away with you. We did try a skip but it soon became a dumping ground for everything … not just the Motorhome area… and I took it away again rather quickly.

He has been very helpful in coming up with suggestions for the parking of 14 camping cars from France for a couple of nights in September.

Its probably the Kashmir Tandoori, 20 Palace St, Canterbury. CT1 2DZ. 01227 462050. Excellent food, I can certainly recommend it.

As for 3 phone and data in Canterbury, probably OK at the park and ride but useless in Canterbury ( and most other places further East.)

I've been in touch with him several times for the Parking web site and he has always been most helpful.
