TV viewing in Southern Ireland (1 Viewer)

I am very new to motor homing, have a digital arial with very good reception but was unable to access any tv in Southern Ireland. I believe they are on a different digital system, what do I need to get tv there please

We are over there now and have same problem, find a tesco and buy a cheap freeview box maybe :Sad:

I'm using a portable sat dish and a freesat receiver.

Have you tried a full retune, ie back to factory settings then auto search all channels ?

I can get sound, but no picture.
Who needs TV when there is good music to listen to in bars.

They use a more advanced codec (H.264 IIRC). You need a newer freeview box that supports it. If you choose one with HD, that might possibly work, as I think UK HDTV uses H.264. However, it is best to check for the specific model before buying.

Who needs TV, full stop.. it's crap most of the time anyway.. that's what we go away for.. a change.

Try this. Turn on TV, then hit it very hard with an old welly, whilst shouting "JEEZ, yus bl**dy ting! If yus dont start workin, yus goin to get pluged into der 'lectric, so yer will!"

Works for the Irish. :Smile:
