Well if anyone is looking for a Chasson Welcome 510 special for sale at NEC Oct 2013 with automatic box we have just cancelled this order with Hayes Leisure at Darleston, West Midlands, goodness knows when the order will be delivered.
They were very good and returned all funds. We are now looking for a used probably coachbuilt motorhome, must be automatic, between £20,000 and £40,000 no more than 24ft max. We have seen a few on ebay some private some not, put a deposit on one but habitation showed damp in several places, so deposit was returned. Looking at another in Notts on Tuesday, but does not have fixed bed, which we have always had in the past. Oh its a minefield, any suggestions would be welcome as the ones we really fancy are either too old or hundreds of miles away.
The months are ticking away and we have itchy feet.

Why not spend a day touring the various dealerships in the Nottingham area... We did this.. Took the dog.. Made a nice day.. Nice meal etc..

When we bought our last van we drove about 300 miles over 4 days to look at 5 vans at different dealers we had Sussed out on t'internet . Made the search into a bit of a road trip.
We did buy at the last dealer we visited, but not the van we went to see oh:

Its GOOD to hear Hayes refunded your deposit been to them a few times just looking but good feedback helps may use them in the future.

I'm just in the middle of buying a van from Hayes - and one of the reasons we went ahead was the good reports we had heard. So far, really super service; nice people to deal with and the above makes us feel a lot better about the deal as well. Pick up the van on 23rd when back from my business trip (it is in stock!)

That's what we did when we bought a previous van from RDH, they were the last dealer on our list to visit that day and we found a Rimor Sailer 645TC - it was over 7m and we were adamant we only wanted 6m max .... oh well .... it was a lovely MH.

We saw the van we eventually bought at the start of our search, it was too expensive and we kept looking in case there was something better...... there wasn't and by the time we discovered this we could afford it.

Stick with your list. If you are used to fixed bed you will.miss it if you don't have it.
Also look at foreign vans. Insulation better.
