Screen cover Short or Long (1 Viewer)

Hi to all.
We are a beginners and debating if to get a Short or a Long External Windscreen Covers External Windscreen Covers from Taylormade. Our van is Fiat Ducato 2012.
Help please

I'm on my second silverscreen (the other makers of external screens).. I have never seen the need for the extra long screens.. Except maybe for the skiing fraternity who go to very cold places?

Personally, I prefer an interior cover, but this one is definitely personal preference. If going for the external, I'd probably go for the short version, as there is less to store.

we have a Ducato 2012 and a silverscreen short. which is perfectly fine. for non SKiing use.

We got the long ones as they cover the external vent and stop draughts going through the dash area. They are a big improvement on the internal type that we have used previously and are not a problem to store either folded nearly flat or rolled up in the bag supplied with them.

Would definitely recommend the original SilverScreen, had ours for going on 3 years, and they're like new.
We personally use a short screen, but we never go to colder climes.:thumb:

Switching the cab heater to 'recirculate' when parked up stops any draughts coming in via the vents. Long covers that cover the bonnet top grilles are only needed to stop snow accumulating.

Go for the long one it will stop drafts coming in through the cab vents without you having to remember to change the air flow in the cab when you stop.

Taylor Made Short screen here but I also have wrap around curtains inside aswell which create another blanket.

Long ones, haven't really experienced draughts through the scuttle vents but the long ones stop rain ingress through the vents when parked up:thumb:

I have had Silverscreens in the past but the long ones for the x250 are almost to the floor so I opted for the Taylormade long ones which just cover the bonnet vents.
They are just as good as Silverscreens, so yes, go long.

The long ones keep the vents clear of leaves etc. It depends where you keep your van but our house is surrounded by trees and there are masses of leaves falling in the autumn and lots of stuff also falls on the van in the spring.

We got the screen to prevent the condensation you get with internal blinds at any time other than summer.

Or you can always just cut a couple of pieces of magnetic vinyl to size to cover the top bonnet grilles.

I also bought long ones after suffering draughts from the vents in my PVC.

Doesn't appear to be any significant difference between Silverscreens and Taylormade, maybe a few pounds cost. In my mind no contest, Taylormade long for all the reasons given earlier even if they are a tad more expensive. K.I.S.S.

But everybody to their own opinion.

Taylormade long for us, because I always forget to change the vent over to recirculate, or back again. They keep out the draughts, keep condensation off the windscreen and keep the water, leaves, snow etc. out of the vents.

Nothing wrong with Silverscreens, just personal choice for us. :thumb:

Spoke to SilverScreen and their explanation why they are not doing long covers is that the long covers that are covering the wipers, causing an air pocket (more air can get under the cover from the bonnet side as there is no wipers to hold it down) that can creat condensation.
Any comments please. :Sad
