Having a valid MOT certificate is obviously a legal requirement, yet the trick here is to use Government MOT test centres. A knowledgeable chat forum user highlighted the fact that local councils have their own MOT testing stations for council vehicles (i.e. buses and ambulances). Yet by law these test centres must be open to the general public. As they only carry out tests, and not repairs, there’s no incentive to find faults that don’t exist.
There is a MOT station run by Leeds City Council That will test the larger M/Hs. Its located at Torre Road, just to the left as you leave Leeds on York Road. [About 2 mile out from the city center. They have MOTed ours and our sons for a number of years now.
