I am on Vista with my new laptop but have issues with seeing phone numbers.

Even on Yell the number flashes up with the name and address then the number disappears leaving just the other details, I can refresh and it appears again for a second or so then disappears.

This even happens on ordinary web pages.

Are you running Skype?

It seems there is a problem that manifests itself in this way and it is caused by Skype, an IE plug in, Hotmail and Yahoo or perm any combination of Skype, those and a few others.
The cure, although not guaranteed to work on all systems is to download a fresh version of Skype. At least version 3.8. Uninstall the previous version of Skype. Reboot then install the latest version of Skype. during install the OPTIONS page will show, ensure ALL the options are UNCHECKED. once installed all should be well.

the problem is due to a skype add-on that should allow you to click
numbers straight into skype but instead, on some vista machines makes
numbers dissapear. Try to disable your skype add-on in explorer (Tools
manage add-ons> unclick or disable skype add-on
