Default Hotmail Problem

Window live has locked me out of my hotmail account I have had since 1996.

Always been the same password and never a problem.

Keep telling me to go through security to get my password then tells me the reminder has been sent to my hotmail accountI cant get to my hotmail account because I am locked out.

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi John

If you are using Windows XP - can't you set your system back a couple of days to a time when it did work properly?

Try using another PC or laptop! and then maybe change password, or just set up a new hotmail account.

If you try and log on too many times at a go, it will lock you out for a couple of hours or so.

I agree, googlemail is by far safer than hotmail and their spam control is terrific too.
In the mean time, i experienced this problem with windows live on several occaissions and i had to go to their passport.net and set the password up again. I changed it to the same password as previous but with a number at the end, saved it then changed it back again to the one i am familiar with.
I think their old passort net site has changed but the priciple will still be the same to change the password thereby re-installing it into their database.

I had a problem with my hotmail account but was of my own making

I don't know why but when I cleaned up my computer and lost all my passwords when it came to my hotmail account I wrongly typed in @hotmail.co.uk instead of @hotmail.com

Finally came to my senses and realised my mistake

Regards Pat

Easily Done That one.

I've done it before and sometimes it just defaults to the wrong one.
