Default Broken Screen Virus

Just had a friend on the phone telling me that his computer has been infected by a virus. He says that the screen now looks as if it is broken or cracked ?
Anyone experienced this virus or have any advice on removal ?

I have heard about this one in the past.

I've just done a search, and whilst it was common a couple of years ago, it's now rare.

Here's a thread with better advice than I could give.....

I nearly had a broken screen last night on mine, I was handing it to my wife to check something, when i stood on the power cable and sent the laptop spinning across the floor battery went one way the mouse another, but luckily no damage.
and its me who always warns Lynn about standing on the wire. Pete
