Jim,
All the best at the York Show and go for it!!! I too, like Keith, was bemused at the "other" business model of charging people a tenner in order to get them to "man the stand" free for a few hours while the "Boss" did More Important Things (? getting more tenners from more suckers in order for them to work gratis for him???)

Booking info if you are planning on going:
Pre-booking on this event has now closed but don't worry you can still come along to the event and simply pay on arrival.
Camping fields open 2pm Thursday 20th September, gates close at 9pm each evening subject to weather conditions, your camping fee depends on your arrival day:
Thursday-Monday £43
Friday - Monday £40
Saturday - Monday £38
Prices are for up to two adults and three children in one unit, additional adults (16years+) are £10 each. All entertainment is included in the price except Saturday evening's gala show for which tickets can be purchased at the show subject to availability.
Day visitor admission to the event is, adult £6.50, child (5-16yrs) £2 or a family ticket (2+3) £15. Entry includes FREE day parking and a FREE show guide. The show opens daily at 9.30am closing at 5pm Friday, 5.30pm Saturday and 4.30pm Sunday.
