Summer as a campsite courier

Posted 11-10-2008 at 09:13 PM by gillr49
June 08

Just a few lines to report how things are going now we are nearly half way through our self imposed exile in Burgundy.
The weather at least has got warmer but we are still having periods of rain and magnificent thunder storms that roll around the valley.
The waterproof (?) coats that we are provided after a period in the rain feel damp inside and out, the hoods never stay on and as we have no mudguards on our bikes there is a permenant line of mud speckles...

Full time RV living

Posted 08-10-2008 at 06:38 PM by Mark&Sue
Hello All,

We are Mark and Sue, two divorcees that have taken the partially forced route to owning our first RV to live in full time. Let me start this RV adventure with a little background so as not to loose any of feel for the blog that I am about to write in a sort of diary style.

Sue and I met about 6 years ago just after I had ended a 16 year stint in the British Army from the age of 16. We met while I was working in her office, she was the PA for one of the...

We had a habitation check done which was fine and had a great winter in it skiing and it worked perfectly for us. The summer was just...

Beware of fumes

Posted 26-09-2008 at 12:13 PM by DavnSueagen
I have a rechargable propane gas bottle in my motorhome. My reasons for buying it were simple, although the bottles come to a good few quid ,they eventualy pay for themselves with cheaper gas and are a huge asset when travelling abroad. Erm, well not quite. To my dismay I have had quite severe fumes coming into the van coming from our fridge and have had our carbon monoxide alarm screaming out at ten past two in the morning. What these manufacturers dont tell you is that they are not considered...

Funsters Arrive In Alhaurin El Grande

Posted 23-09-2008 at 10:15 AM by Detourer
Spread out on the camping table it looked easy. Yes the motorway now extends most of the way, but the 400 miles from Marrakech to Ceuta involved a final twist, crossing of the Riff….again!

The ambitious plan was to do the final run back to Ceuta in one go, overnight near the border and cross next morning. Ray had moved on some hours before the “funsters” left the Marrakech camp. Bidding farewell to A’hammed they followed at around 6am in the morning. The idea being that they [in faster...
