How do you feel today?

Today I have felt pretty rough and lethargic...
As some of you know, I was diagnosed with Diabetes a while ago, which was pretty life changing. Not a lot is generally know about the disease and it's complications until you find that you have it, then you can find out loads of stuff that you never knew. The disease is one of the 20th century basically, where we live a rich lifestyle and eat far too much, especially the "wrong" things.
Anyway I have check ups every 3 months and it includes a blood test which determines what my blood sugar level has been over the last 3 months and also checks my cholesterol levels. My last test showed my blood sugar was 8.5 (should be a max of 7) and my cholesterol was 3 (spot on). I was taking 3 x Metformin per day for the sugars and 1 x Simvastatin for my cholesterol. Because of the statin the cholesterol seems to have improved and is now OK, however the sugar is not responding well and Mr Grumpy Doctor has now increased my medication to include 1 x Gliclazide.
I need to read up on this drug as my quack has no idea and cannot give me any information at all.
Anyway since taking this tablet I have felt pretty rough and I really hope that it passes soon when my body (hopefully) adjusts to it.....
Never mind, there is always someone worse off than me

Gliclazide and Metformin are the two drugs mainly used in Non-insulin dependent Diabetes Mellitus treatment. They each have side effects, some bad, some nuisance ,some serious, Keith.... Has Grumpy Doctor not perhaps got a Happy Doctor or Helpful Doctor partner in the practice? Don't leave it for too long before seeking advice.

Thanks all for your kind comments.
I have an appointment to see Grumpy Doctor in the morning and I am trying to decide if by telling him what I really think of his attitude will be a death warrant or will it get me to see another doctor??? I guess I'll decide in the middle of the firefight as usual LOL.....
Geo, we are going to fix that problem mate, by meeting up with Camcondor on a site.... Really looking forward to it now :)
I do feel a bit better today, went to see the diabetes nurse yesterday, who said some really encouraging things. She said I had lowered my cholesterol, although my Trigliserides were a tad high at 2.6 (2.3 is the upper limit) but considering my LDL's were down to 0.9 there was no need to worry unduly. She was really pleased with my weight loss and all I have to do now is get the excersise thing going.... Which is why I am going to see Grumpy tomorrow. I had some bloods taken last Thursday to try to establish why I have constant pain from my right shoulder along with very limited movement and also a shooting pain in my left buttock when I walk only a short distance?????
Hopefully he will come up with some help because I have had this for months now and it is really starting to get me down....
Hey Ho, I will let you all know the outcome.............
