Don't see how it can hurt
But i think most of us either jumped in with both feet (as I did) or progressed from a caravan and the like

Some more than others

If you've read through some of the postings on here you'll see that different layouts/ different sizes suit different folks.

For us the layout was a prime factor... we already knew that we liked the lifestyle

Check out the hire firms to see if there's a layout that appeals and give it a go... if you don't like the lifestyle you'll have spent a few bob and saved a nelluva lot more

Hi Si-J

You have opened a Pandora's box of questions by simply saying you fancy a motorhome. Hire before you buy is definitely the sensible thing to do BUT you obviously need to know what is available, at a price that you can afford and what layout, size, number of beds etc., etc., etc you need.

Before you hire - go to a big show (any of the BIG shows and spend all day, boring yourself silly by going into every single type of motorhome you can find - both European and American.

Then decide upon a budget and layout - then go and try to find the one you fancy and hire it - for at least a week. Anything less is useless because you really do have to bang your head a few times on the lockers and bruise your legs a few times on the table corners - and get very close to the point of losing your temper - before you decide it is the life for you

Excellent idea to hire before you buy, if your down our way and hire from us and then buy from us, we credit part of the hire charge towards your purchase.

I am sure other dealers may do this as well.

Regards
