And what about the limo?
During the George Bush Snr presidency, I was visiting Philadelphia. I Had a lunch appointment, and came down from my room at the hotel. Unbeknowns to me, I pressed the wrong button in the elevator. Came out at what I thought was the ground floor and, as I walked in the direction of a lot of people attending some event, I was ushered back in the elevator by secret service guys.
When I got downstairs, I asked the doorman what was going on, and he told me that Barbara Bush was giving a lunchtime speech on the floor I'd inadvertently stopped at. He was complaining that they'd shut down the street outside so she could safely disemabark the limo. He explained that the Presidential limo would normally ride a special elevator up to the appropriate floor, and the occupants would step out without fear of being seen by a potential assassin on the street.
The perks of the job.
