We have a Tom Tom One Europe. Which is ok providing you realise the limitations of Sat Navs. When we first bought it, it was brilliant. I wondered what my late father, a truck driver all his life, would thought about it. After a few weeks it ceased to be the 'new toy' and we longer needed it to visited the local supermarket. Travelling farther a field it became all too annoying picking the totally wrong route, causing me to swear repeatably when Tom Tom blurted out his catch phrase 'Turn Around When Possible'
Now your probably thinking why did I buy one, well I dont know everything despite being given a very good education into the roads of Britain by my dad. The Tom Tom really comes into it's own when pinpointing an address or location. So iwhen travelling around Britain we tend to turn off the sound therefore ignoring the commands untill we get relatively near.
There a couple of thing I dont like about SAT NAVS in general:
(1) They dont recognise the size or weight of vehicle a person is driving which can lead to be sent down some very bad routes. Hopefully later generations of SAT NAVS will address this.
(2) Sat Navs are too clinical, and there comes a time when you realise, Yes, we did actually like getting lost, we found some brilliant places when we got lost.
Travelling into Europe for the first time this year was another matter, TOM TOM was invaluable. I cannot praise it enough.
Would I buy another TOM TOM, Yes.
But I would also like to buy one of those handheld PDA's so I called download my OS maps and go walking with it.
